Which regulations will apply in gastronomy, culture, sports and tourism from May 19.
Gastronomy
– FFP2 masks are mandatory outside the assigned seating area.
– Upon entering, a test must be taken or a valid negative test result, a vaccination certificate or confirmation of a COVID 19 sickness recovery must be shown
– Guests must register with their name and contact details upon entry.
– A group of guests may include max. 4 adults (+ associated children) indoors and max. 10 adults outdoors
– A minimum distance of 2 meters must be kept between the persons of other tables
– In closed rooms, consumption may only take place in a seated position
– Consumption at the serving point (bar) is not allowed
– Self-service buffets may be operated under strict hygiene conditions
– Every catering establishment must draw up a prevention concept and appoint a COVID 19 officer.
– Employees who come into contact with customers are required to wear FFP2 masks.
– Employees with customer contact who are tested as part of occupational group testing may wear a simple mouth/nose protection instead of an FFP2 mask.
– Closing time is at 22.00
Culture and events
– FFP2 masks must be worn at all times
– Upon entering, a test must be taken, or a valid negative test result, a vaccination certificate or a confirmation of a previous illness must be presented.
– Visitors must register with their name and contact details upon entry
– As a general rule, a distance of 2 meters must be maintained outside an assigned seating area
– There must be at least one free seat between groups of visitors
– Officially approved events with assigned seating may be held outdoors with a maximum of 3,000 people and indoors with a maximum of 1,500 people.
– Venues with fixed seating may be used to a maximum of 50% capacity
– Events without assigned seating may have a maximum of 50 people (indoor and outdoor).
– Events with 11 or more people are subject to notification; events with 51 or more people require a permit from the health authority.
– Rules for event catering are analogous to catering (no catering at events without assigned seating).
– Each event organizer must draw up a prevention concept and appoint a COVID 19 representative.

Congresses/seminars
– FFP2 masks are mandatory
– Upon entering, a test must be taken or a valid negative test result, a vaccination certificate or confirmation of a previous illness must be presented.
– Visitors must register with their name and contact details upon entry
– In principle, a distance of 2 meters must be maintained outside an assigned seating area
– Congresses with up to 50 people are subject to notification, with 51 people or more a permit is required from the health authority
– In addition, the same rules apply to congresses as to events with assigned seats
– Each organizer must draw up a prevention concept and appoint a COVID 19 representative.
– Closing time is at 22.00
Trade fairs
– FFP2 masks are mandatory
– Upon entering, a test must be taken or a valid negative test result, a vaccination certificate or a confirmation of a previous illness must be presented.
– Visitors must register with their name and contact details upon entry
– In principle, a distance of 2 meters must be maintained
– An area of 20 m2 must be available per visitor; exhibition areas are counted, but not connecting corridors
– Exhibitions with up to 50 persons are subject to registration, 51 persons or more require a permit from the health authorities.
– Each organizer must draw up a prevention concept and appoint a COVID 19 representative.
Closing time is at 22.00
Accommodation
– FFP2 mask obligation in the general areas.
– Upon entering, a test must be taken, or a valid negative test result, a vaccination certificate or a confirmation of having been through an illness must be shown
– Guests must register their name and contact information upon entering (as is standard practice in lodging anyway)
– In principle, a distance of 2 meters must be maintained
– When using further services or gastronomy in the hotel, self-testing under supervision on site is required every 2 days from a stay beyond the validity of the entry test
– The regulations for wellness operations are analogous to those for wellness leisure facilities
– Each hotel must draw up a prevention concept and appoint a COVID 19 representative.
– The same rules apply to hotel gastronomy as to normal gastronomy (incl. curfew at 22:00)
Sports
Indoor:
– FFP2 masks mandatory in general areas (e.g., reception, locker room).
– Upon entering, a test must be taken, or a valid negative test result, a vaccination certificate or a confirmation of an illness that has been passed through must be presented
– Athletes must register with their name and contact information upon entering (as is customary in lodging anyway)
– In principle, a distance of 2 meters must be maintained
– 20m² of space must be available per person
– No mask obligation applies for the time of the sport practice and the distance rule can be undercut for contact sports for a short time. Contact sports such as soccer are therefore allowed again.
Outdoor sports facilities: sports are possible in team sizes customary for the type of sport:
– For contact and team sports, a test must be taken, or a valid negative test result, a vaccination certificate or confirmation of an illness that has been passed must be presented
– Each sports facility (indoor and outdoor) must establish a prevention policy and appoint a COVID-19 officer
– The event regulations (notification/permit requirement) apply to any spectators at sports facilities, but not to the sporting activity itself.
– Closing time is 22.00 o’clock
– Popular sports in groups of the usual size for the type of sport in public areas, but no more than 10 people.
Recreational facilities
– FFP2 masks are compulsory.
– When entering indoor areas, a test must be taken, or a valid negative test result, a vaccination certificate or a confirmation of a passed illness must be presented
– Visitors must register with their name and contact details when entering (as is usual in accommodation anyway)
– In principle, a distance of 2 meters must be maintained
– In the case of indoor facilities, baths and spas, 20 m² of space must be available per guest in the respective enclosed space.
– Every leisure facility must draw up a prevention concept and appoint a COVID 19 officer.
– For rides (e.g. carousels), there must be an empty seat between visitors. Customer registration is not required.
– Closing time is 22.00
Trade
– Closing time is 22:00 at the latest
– An area of 20 m2 must be available per customer
FFP2 mask obligation
School
– As of May 17, school will once again be in attendance.
– In lower grades a mouth-nose-protection (MNS) must be worn
– In upper grades FFP2 masks are compulsory
– In schools, testing is 3 times per week (self-testing is allowed).
– Occupational testing of teachers is done with supervised self-testing at school
– Singing and sports are allowed outdoors only
– Multi-day school events are not allowed.
Youth work
– A test must be taken, or a valid negative test result, a vaccination certificate or confirmation of an illness that has been passed must be presented
– Youth work according to the Federal Youth Promotion Act (age limit: 30)
– The group size is limited to a maximum of 20 persons
Contact restrictions
– No general exit restrictions at night
– Outside the private residential area, the following applies: meetings of maximum 10 people (+ children) are possible outdoors, indoors a maximum of 4 adults (+ children) are allowed. For meetings with more people, the event regulations apply.
– In the time between 22.00 and 5.00 o’clock are generally only meetings of max. 4 adults (plus associated children) possible
Test validity of access tests
– Self-test with digital solution: 24h
– Antigen test: 48h
– PCR test: 72h
– Recovered persons: 6 months until after illness
– Vaccinated persons: 1 year from 22 days after initial vaccination
High incidence areas
– For high incidence areas (incidence > 300), exit testing is mandatory and there will be a toolbox with all existing legal options.
Borders
Regulations according to the ECDC map for risk areas: green/yellow/orange: free entry, red: entry only tested, recovered or vaccinated, dark red: entry only tested, recovered or vaccinated and quarantine (free testing after 5 days).
